Clients at home with Jackie (the chewy Jack Rusell puppie) & Palm sconces Article & Photo: copyright Los Angeles Times, 2006, photograph by Lawrence K. Ho from LAT_04/12/2006_sec.K_realestate_p1

The palm sconce in both cases represents the affection for
architectural detailing that these iconic fixtures engender.

Everyone shared a common thought, "how cool is that?!"

INSTALLED - Original AMPCO sconce (one of 6) on left, studio palm sconces on right (2 visible, two not shown.)
By opening up the wall between the living room & original master bedroom with softened corner french doors, the living room merged with a new den. The additional palm sconces were needed to create visual and thematic continuity in the adjoining rooms.

ABOUT THESE FIXTURES
Smiling Faces Don't Tell The Whole Story

On Sunday, March 12, 2006,  early on,  I received multiple phone calls about the palm sconce project, including one from the clients.  Pictured here on that same sunday they shared my first look at coverage of a similar light.  The original style sconce - was profiled in the Los Angeles Times Real Estate Section.   On page 1 with a photo & heading, "Down to the Last Detail".  A restored residence in Topanga Canyon, valued in excess of $3M was profiled on page 2. Article from front page of LATimes Real Estate section is on right column.
